Leah Turned Three

Leah turned three today and we are so happy she is part of our little family. She has such a sweet little spirit and really is our "free spirited" child. She already has a opinion and she is not easily persuaded. She is full of love that shows in her actions towards her sisters and she is also the family little goofball. She LOVES giggling and playing tricks on her sisters.

We had an exciting day today... we started it off by eating
Purple Pancakes...
Bought Brave dolls and went and saw the show...
Ate cake and opened presents...

Some of Leah's current favorite things include: Her sisters, counting everything, the color PURPLE, dresses, tangled, and having books read to her.

Visiting In Many Ways

We often go to visit the temple but our visit today was extra special. We were able to meet up with one of my good friends from California. She just happened to be out here with family and took a trip to the temple she we came along. It was so great seeing her after all these years... its been entirely way to long.

It was so hot standing in the sun!

Gotta love the closed eyes haha.. but Matt only took one picture!

Also, today Matt and I got asked to be the witness couple. I always thought the people being the witnesses were a calling because every time we have gone it has always been an Elderly couple.  Doing it made the entire process even better! I am so thankful for temples we have here on earth and the ordinances performed in them. Every time we go I fall more and more in love with my sugar bear.

Matt the Inventor

Matt comes up with some crazy ideas at times but this one was executed perfectly. After we bought our Suburban we ran into a problem... where does the spare tire go? We have seen them on top but in AZ heat that spare would get weathered faster than you can use it... we have seen them on the back so we did some researching and there is no way we would spend over 700 bucks for the one and only contraption out there. So out came our third row and a few months of Matt nothing liking this and not liking that he came up with an idea. When he described to to me I really couldn't picture it but it turned our perfect! We have a place in the very back where are spare could go but not a full size spare like we have so this is what he did.
Four pieces of steel together that he got from a steel factory for free right near where we live.

Then he attached it to the original bolt areas on the wheel well.
The bungee is temporary until he finds a metal dowel that is long enough to go through both sides.
I love it I was pleasantly surprise because it looks pretty neat. I told him he needs to market it.. Now we can carry a full size spare where ever we go. It is up and out of the way so it still leaves space for groceries and what not and the best part We don't have a tire rolling around every time we make a turn. Matt is brilliant!
