Breakfast

There are many reasons why I love when General Conference comes around ever six months, but one of the reasons I do is because it is like a mini Thanksgiving around our house.

I made this today and it was so yummy this morning! I altered it a bit because  we like lots of flavor and to what I already had on hand but Everyone including my picky eaters loved it. The girls requested to have it "tomorrow and the next day and the yesterday after that" LoL

4-5 eggs, beaten
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese(i used fiesta blend)
4-6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups unseasoned croutons(i used seasoned)
2 cups milk (I used skim/fat free)
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper

Directions: 1. Place croûtons and cheese in the bottom of a greased 9x13" baking pan. 2. Combine eggs, milk and seasonings; pour into baking dish.  3. Sprinkle with bacon. Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until set. Serve immediately.

Reading

Eliza and I have been working on sounds of letters and putting them together in a word.. like when we are getting dressed and just talking. Anyway, this morning as I was doing her hair she said "Angel Soft" 70 grams then told me she had it memorized from a commercial. She thought the % sign meant grams. Tonight she came to me and asked if I could help her read a book. So we started. We read Nighty-Night just a simple one. She was able to read "to, and, time, favorite, sleep, her and as" ALL BY HERSELF! She is such a smart girl!! At first I thought she just had it memorized but you could tell her little gears were working and she was really trying to sound out the words. Every now and then she was just throw out a word and I realized it was always right before a word she did know. I think she was trying to rush to the next one. I am betting my little five year old will be reading before the end of the year!

Elaine's First Day Of Nursery!

Today is Elaine's first day of Nursery. Cant believe how fast time has flown! It's a little intimidating with her being our last I will no longer have an excuse to walk in the hallway at church ;) Leah is still in nursery until the beginning of the year so hopefully Elaine will adjust well to not being with Daddy(she is definitely a Daddy's girl)

Kitty Named Twix

My mom ran into the room I was in and said "Laura the dogs got  kitten" I said "okay...(thinking it was already dead)" and she ran outside barefoot and all across the gravel and rescued this little kitten that Matt ended up naming Twix. My mom decided she wanted to keep it and Eliza and Elaine fell in love. Leah didn't care for the kitten too much after about five minutes :) Well we went to the store bought the kitty milk and some other things. She was doing great the first day we had her she was loving on the girls and was super calm. Well the next night she looked like she may have gotten a cold, was getting super fiesty, didnt want to be more than a foot off the ground, and when every she walked she looked drunk and only walked backwards but it was too late and nothing was open around here. The next morning after we dropped Eliza off at school we took Twix to the vet and they told us she tested positive for feline leukemia. She was about 4wks old but she was so starved that the disease was already hurting her. They told us if we did get the antibiotics for her cold that she would only live three weeks maybe and be in a lot of pain. So we decided to put her down. They girls took it fairly well. I think My mom and I cried the most. Its surprising how such small little creatures can capture your heart in a short amount of time but this little girl did. She was part of the Player family only three days..
